Based in Ottawa, Ontario, they design, engineer and manufacture instrumentation to measure and characterize light emission, reflection, and transmission. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the International Sales Manager is responsible for business development, sales, and customer support of Westboro’s product portfolio to OEMs and contract manufacturing partners in Europe and Asia via our existing network of distributors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Development Activities.
  • Establish and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Establish new distributors as required.
  • Uncover and penetrate new potential customers.
  • Sales Channel Management.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and support international distributors.
  • Hold regular business reviews.
  • Strategic Planning.
  • Develop and implement agreed distributor sales targets & action plans.
  • Key “direct” customer engagement plans.
  • Establish and maintain a regional sales plan and revenue forecast.
  • Prepare and present quarterly regional sales updates.
  • Collaborate with our client’s team to identify opportunities, create marketing plans, and highlight product roadmap requirements.
  • Technical Sales Support
  • Ensure distributor and customer satisfaction with our client’s products
  • Provide installation assistance and training, technical support, and service.
  • Travel internationally.
  • Visit distributors and attend trade shows.
  • Meet with customers to promote solutions, demo products and close sales.
  • Create and deliver required sales tools, presentations, and customer demos.

Experience and Background Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business and / or Electrical Engineering.
  • An MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct sales.
  • 2+ years of experience managing sales channel partners.
  • Proven performance selling technology hardware solutions.
  • Experience with a Sales force automation system (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.).
  • The personality of a leader with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A positive attitude with a creative approach to build relationships and deliver results.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Willing and happy to travel internationally as required (up to 40%).
