The Position:

Industry Analyst relations (IAR) professionals provide a key link between industry analysts and internal marketing, product teams, and corporate executives. Our client is looking for an IAR Manager to build, manage, and execute on both inbound and outbound Industry Analyst Relations (IAR) programs to support our security business.

Outbound IAR programs focus on the development and fostering of strong, strategic relationships with analyst firms such as Gartner, Forrester and IDC. Inbound IAR programs leverage analyst research/insight on business and technology trends to inform and shape the thinking of executive, product and marketing teams.

This role reports to the Head of Industry Analyst Relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with other IAR team members to design and execute multi-faceted, outbound programs in support of key product and marketing initiatives (e.g., significant product launches & campaigns, corporate & partnership announcements, etc.).

  • Drive alignment with marketing and product teams to maximize program impact.

  • Create, nurture, and manage positive relationships with industry analysts, serving as a key, centralized contact point and facilitator.

  • Plan, schedule, manage, and track analyst program activities such as briefings, inquiries, strategy sessions, conferences, and Trend Micro, industry & analyst-hosted events.

  • Prioritize, gain buy-in, and lead multi-stakeholder activities related to ad-hoc analyst requests, participation in analyst research, research report reviews and major vendor evaluations such as Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves and IDC MarketScapes.

  • Support inbound IAR programs that leverage analyst research & opinion to educate internal stakeholder groups and inform key product and market strategy decisions.

  • Respond to, serve, and manage internal requests for industry analyst interactions, publications, research, event support, and other requests as needed to support internal and go-to-market efforts.

  • Ensure analyst advice informs applicable business activities and that analyst publications and/or other interactions that mention our client are leveraged appropriately to help build market awareness, increase lead generation effectiveness, and simplify selling.

  • Support the customer reference team efforts to develop strategies to secure customers for Gartner’s peer review platform and to assess published reviews.

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience in high-tech markets with emphasis on communication and relationship-building competencies (IAR, Media/Press Relations, Product Marketing or prior experience working with analysts is a plus).

  • Passion for executing world-class, innovative IAR programs.

  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills with an understanding of how to build and maintain cross-functional relationships.

  • Strong project and time management skills with proven ability to independently manage a high volume of complex, deadline-driven tasks, concurrently.

  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to absorb and synthesize a broad array of third-party research and analysis, and summarize its significance to a broad audience.

  • Familiarity with/affinity for/aptitude for learning technology markets (information security preferred).

  • Demonstrable understanding of the IAR function’s role as part of broader marketing activities.

  • High personal and professional integrity.

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Consistent achievement of results demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver results.

  • BA/BS in Communications, Technology or Business (preferred).
