Description

Reporting to the President, the HW Manager is responsible for all mechanical, optical, and electrical aspects of the our client’s product portfolio. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define hardware requirements and design specification
  • Hands-on design to comply with system requirements
  • Project management and NPI completion
  • Troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical problems as necessary
  • Drive continuous improvement in design, quality, and cost reduction
  • Creation of production and calibration procedures as required
  • Oversee transfer of manufacturing processes to production
  • Maintain quality systems associated with department

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Manage the engineering team
  • Schedule and plan resources and priorities to meet corporate goals
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management
  • Contribute to project design and establish requirements
  • Prepare status updates for Executive as required
  • Ensure product quality is maintained

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or Vision Sciences
  • 7+ years of hardware engineering experience
  • 3+ years engineering management experience
  • Strong software skills
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • A positive leader with excellent communication skills
  • An ability to foster strong teamwork and help team members thrive
  • Strong math and organizational skills
  • Able to travel internationally if required
