What You Will Do

We are looking for a talented and passionate UX Designer with front-end development skills to join our clients growing team based in Ottawa, Ontario. By joining our client team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the user experience, create visually compelling data visualizations, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge security cloud solutions that help protect people and businesses worldwide.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements and define user needs.
• Create and refine user personas, user journeys, and use cases based on research and data.
• Design user interfaces, including wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, using Figma or similar tools.
• Develop and implement front-end code using HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript to ensure seamless integration with the development team.
• Design and develop visualizations to effectively present complex security data and analytics.
• Establish and maintain a consistent design system focused on component reusability, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand and style guidelines.
• Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback to inform design iterations.
• Continuously monitor and improve the user experience, based on analytics and user feedback.
• Assess the suitability of third-party packages for inclusion into the platform, considering both technical and licensing implications.
• Stay updated on the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices, with an emphasis on accessibility standards.

What You Bring To Our Client

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably in a cloud-based SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with proven front-end development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to create responsive and adaptive designs for web and mobile applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on user-centered design principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the security analytics industry.
• Familiarity with Java back-end development.
• Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and reusable design patterns.
• Proficiency in user research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices, with a commitment to creating inclusive designs.
